Globe Telecom expands 4G network with LTE rollout, announces Philippine’s first-ever mobile 4G LTE network. Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business Peter Bithos officially announces the launch of the Globe 4G LTE network during a recent media briefing, making Globe the largest 4G network in the country with over 4,700 4G HSPA+ and WiMAX sites by year end.

The commercial LTE rollout will commence by September 2012, followed by the firing up of the country’s first-ever mobile 4G LTE network by 4th quarter this year, another first from Globe. The first batch of LTE deployment will cover 45 sites in Makati, and will quickly expand to cover Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and select regions across the country.

Our rollout focus will be on large, contiguous areas, instead of “pocket activations” and “hot spots” to ensure greater and more stable coverage for customers,” said Bithos.

To complement its 4G LTE network, Globe will offer LTE-powered broadband dongles and plans, as well as handsets and mobile data plans to provide subscribers superfast speeds and world-class internet and mobile experience.
